The list provided below is not exhaustive, but it will give you a general idea of the services our operatives offer on a daily basis. If you require a Land Rover/Range Rover technician for services not listed below, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are confident that we can assist you. Our services are charged at £70 per hour plus VAT. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

SERVICING

It is advisable to service and check-over your vehicle every 12 months to ensure that your car remains safe and road legal – maintaining a pro-active approach will maximise the longevity of your vehicles componentry and optimise your engine’s reliability and capabilities.

VEHICLE REPAIR

If your vehicle has developed an unusual or intermittent fault or requires a difficult repair, then you can depend on our experienced mechanics to diagnose the issue and remedy the problem in a cost efficient and timely manner.
We love all things land Rover and know the vehicles inside out – Quite literally!

DIAGNOSTICS

Sussex 4x4’s diagnostic equipment is cutting edge and in constant daily use, enabling our operatives to quickly and efficiently identify problems so that car repair times are greatly reduced. If a warning light appears on the dashboard do not ignore it - your vehicle needs to be booked in for an inspection.

BATTERY CHANGE

All batteries deteriorate over time, and as part of our standard service we always examine your vehicles battery to assess its health, condition and voltage output - however if you’re experiencing starting issues or have concerns - you are welcome to book your vehicle in for assessment. We appreciate reliability and will therefore only fit premium brands.

MOT

Following your Vehicles Annual Service - we are generally instructed by most of our clients to organise and arrange an appointment for your vehicle at our Local Independent MOT Centre whereon - one of our mechanics will drive your vehicle to the test centre and remain with your 4x4 for the duration of the inspection.

COMPREHENSIVE OIL FLUID AND BRAKE ASSESSMENT

This check is something that is included in our Full-Service Package – however we additionally offer this as a stand alone if your vehicle needs a fluids flush.

WELDING AND PANEL REPAIR

Sussex 4x4 offer a Comprehensive Welding Service - and if your vehicle has a welding requirement which is economically viable to repair using this metal fusing technique then we will be happy to assist (in certain circumstances the sad truth in today’s throw away society is that sometimes it is simply more cost effective to purchase another panel or component ☹ rather the repair the existing item).
We will always discuss this comprehensively with you -and utilise the most cost-effective method to assist you with your repair to keep your vehicle roadworthy and safe for you to drive.

CHASSIS CHANGE

Every original 90, 110 and 130 Defender was built upon a Steel Chassis and Sussex 4x4 are proficient in Defender Chassis Replacements, we always recommend Top Quality Galvanised Replacements and offer a “Fixed Price Chassis Replacement Service” (subject to our operatives not finding any hidden issues whilst undertaking the work).
Dependant on budget we advise applying a further protective layer to prevent the galvanised chassis from corroding due to road salt.

PAINT SPRAYING

If your vehicle requires a freshen up – then Sussex 4x4 can assist you – Our services in this area range from offering a full respray service to freshen up your vehicle (in any Ral colour as required) - or possibly lesser works attending to minor painting requirements following rust repairs to sills or panels, We also undertake proactive chassis spraying to ensure that your Land Rover remains in good shape for the foreseeable future.

TYRE REPLACEMENT

We can examine your current tyres - and if required we can fit your vehicle with replacements – Our technicians are on hand to offer advice as to which tyres are preferable for your vehicle - and a tyre choice is usually made following several questions regarding the type of driving that you generally undertake in your vehicle – be it mainly “Off- Road”, or all “On-Road” or a mixture of Both. Some of our clients know the tyre brand and style they prefer - and they tell us.

RESTORATION

Sussex 4x4’s team are all dedicated Land Rover enthusiasts, and we can assist you in winding back the clock - to help you return your vehicles aesthetical appearance and mechanical capabilities to restore your Landy back to its former glory.
We always listen attentively to the clients’ restorative aspirations, and will sensitively to replace and repair the parts of your vehicle as per your requirements in order to preserve your vehicle for the next generation.

AIR CONDITIONING

For newer generation vehicles - a yearly service is recommended which involves a technician assessing the Air Conditioning system’s lubricant levels and then re-gassing the refrigerant as required. A vacuum (pressure) test is also undertaken to ensure that there are no cracks or leaks which could potentially compromise the working ability of your Air-Con.
If you own an older model Land Rover or Range Rover, then it’s probably better to skip over this section as it will only make you feel slightly sad (although -that being said - we can and have fitted - retrospectively upgrade kits to compatible older models for significant cabin comfort gains – so please enquire if this is of interest to you.
